how do i read guitar chord charts. teach me.?

when you are looking at the chart, the 6 lines going up and down represent the strings of the guitar. The one on the left is the Low E and the one on the right is the High E.
The lines going left to right represent the frets on the neck of the guitar. So, the "frets" closer to the top of the chart are closer to the "head" of the guitar. The numbers along the top of the chart tell you which finger to use on the designated position on the chart. The number (s) along the left side of the "neck" tell you which fret the notes and fingers are postitioned at.
